Back from the Fells

9 days, 87miles or 139 km, 24 Wainwrights (I think, I'm not really counting)...

You can see the detailed map HERE (- you may need to download 'silverlight' to see it properly, it runs in the OS getamap service).

A great trip with pretty miraculous weather, lots of food for thought and a good training opportunity for the HRP in the summer.  We used the Trail 'haute route' mentioned in the last post as a starting place to make our own - it was quickly evident that this was a West-Highland-Way-for-the-Lakes type trail.  What was great about the Trail route was the enormous variety of remote countryside it takes you through, and the way in which a tour allowed us to join up previously isolated summits - we got to see the lay of the land, and what more can you ask for?  What was less great was that it didn't include enough tops, but it was easy to tailor.  More to come, but here's a few early images whilst I sort it all out.
